The Transport Shared Priority

The Transport Shared Priority (TSP) defined by Government for the purpose of preparing LTP2s has four themes:

  • reducing congestion
  • improving accessibility
  • improving air quality
  • improving road safety
The Government will look for evidence that the Shared Priorities (including the TSP) are at the heart of local transport strategies, although prioritisation of the four themes of the TSP is left for local determination.  The Shared Priorities also inform the Audit Commission's work in developing the Comprehensive Performance Assessment of local authorities for 2005 and beyond.
